Guwahati(Assam),May 8 : 50 more critically ill Covid patients succumbed to their infections in the state on Saturday while 5756 fresh cases were detected .
Among the new cases , 1543 were reported from Guwahati and its suburbs .
The overall positivity percentage was 8.84% and the recovery rate was 86.24%.

All the new cases were confirmed out of 65,140 tests done on Saturday .
