Kokrajhar(Assam), May 3 : The United People’s Party Liberal(UPPL) has accused the Bodoland People’s Front ruled BTC administration in perpetrating Rs . 1000 crore corruption and anomalies during their rule and have demand an investigation over all the irregularities and misappropriation of government fund which occurred in the past 17 years of their rule in the council.

Speaking to reporters here ,UPPL CWC member and RTI activist, Prithviraj Narayan Dev Mech said that there are reports of thousand crore anomalies in the BTC administration in various departments including Panchayat & Rural development(P&RD) and Welfare for the plain tribes and backward classes (WPT & BC) department which have been revealed in a RTI report. He informed that the anomalies occurred during the period 2012-2019 in the council and several leaders and contractors were involved in this anomaly .

Mech said that BPF leaders and contractors are afraid that their perpetrated corruption and anomalies will become public during the Governor’s Rule in the BTC administration as the council administration is under governor’s rule since April 27 after BPF ruled BTC administration’s tenure expired.

Mech alleged that out of fear of investigations into alleged anomalies in BTC,BPF leaders are now spending sleepless nights and the biggest tension is with BPF president and former BTC chief Hagrama Mohilary who claimed that he is still the unofficial chief of BTC administration.

Mech said that there are more than Rs 1000 crore’s scam in the Panchayat & Rural Development (P & RD) department and Welfare for Plain tribes and Backward classes (WPT & BC) department in the council where executive members and several contractors were involved which was revealed in a RTI report.

Mech while highlighting about the details and authentication of the anomalies in the RTI report, said that the name, details and address of the contractors/ supplier enterprises with whom former BTC chief Hagrama Mohilary and former BTC executive members Doneswar Goyary and Rajib Brahma had perpetrated the huge scam of Rs. 1000 crores in the BTC region between the year 2012 to 2019.

Mech had filed a RTI with the concerned department seeking reports over the alleged corruption and anomalies in the departments and accordingly the anomalies were reported in the RTI report.

Mech also added that legal action will be initiated very soon against the corrupted BPF political leaders, officers and contractors of BTC who all were involved in the huge scam of 1000 crores in Panchayat & Rural Development (P & RD) department and Welfare for Plain tribes and Backward classes (WPT & BC) department from the year 2012 to 2019.

He alleged that BPF ruled BTC administration has failed to fulfill the hopes and aspirations of the common masses in their 17 years of rule in the council.

Mech also appealed to the Governor of Assam to initiate immediate investigations over all the irregularities and misappropriation of government fund which occurred in the past 17 years in the council region.

Assam Governor’s appointed administrator Rajesh Prasad and BTC principal secretary Siddhartha Singh assumed their offices on April 30 at the BTC Secretariat here.
