Guwahati ( Assam), Sept 5 : While the state was celebrating the 61st Teachers Day today an assistant teacher serving in No . 503 Aunajati Kavivarta Lower Primary School in Dhemaji committed suicide by hanging on a tree .
According to information available ,the deceased teacher has been identified as Rajen Bania .
Bania took the extreme step over non – payment of salary . Though the school was established before India’s Independence but the school has not yet been provincialized till date.
According to family members , Bania committed suicide as he was going through severe depression as his school is not yet provincialized for 75 years now.
Bania was an assistant teacher at Auniati Koibarta Lower Primary School for the last 30 years but his service was not regularized.
