Guwahati (Assam), June 29 : 1 critically sick Covid patient died while 195 new cases were detected in the city today . In the state a total of 327 news were detected out of which 195 cases were from the capital city itself .
The total figures in the state has gone up to 7492 .
Confirming the death , state health minister , Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma said one Hemanga Majumdar aged 45 yrs old and a resident of Khanapara, Guwahati died due to COVID-19 today in Guwahati Medical College .
The patient was brought to the hospital late, in critical condition and despite several attempts by the the doctors in the hospital the patient passed away .
Meanwhile , 327 new Covid cases were detected in the state out of which 195 cases were from Guwahati city .
Seeing no respite in the increase of Covid cases in the city which is spreading alarmingly , the district administration has clamped total lockdown in the city from midnight today . This is going to be the strictest lockdown where all activities will be shut except medical services .
The health minister tweeted on Sunday night , “📌Alert ~ 327 new #COVID19+ cases detected in Assam today. Out of these, 195 cases were reported in Guwahati City in last 24 hours.”
