Guwahati(Assam ), Mar 31 : The government here has asked all of its citizens to voluntarily report themselves to the nearby government hospital if they were present at the Nizamuddin Markaz religious congregation in Delhi.
Assam Health Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma tweeted, “If there is anyone from Assam who attended the religious congregation of Tablighi Jamaat at Hazrat Nizamuddin in Delhi, please IMMEDIATELY report voluntarily to the nearest government hospital or by calling Helpline no # 104. Please treat this as very important.”
According to available reports, 299 people from Assam had also attended the religious congregation of Tablighi Jamaat at Hazrat Nizamuddin earlier this month.

Fear has been mounting in Assam as it has come into light that around over 250 people attended the religious congregation a few days ago which was organised without permission.
The Telangana government on Monday announced that six people who had attended the event in Nizamuddin area of New Delhi have died of the Coronavirus.
Thousands of Indians and hundreds of foreigners had attended the conference that took place on March 9 and 10 in the densely populated Nizamuddin area of Delhi. Ten of the 17 confirmed cases in Tamil Nadu on March 30 were also of people who had participated in the congregation.
Meanwhile , in neighbouring Shillong the Tablighi Jamaat confirmed that seven persons from Meghalaya had gone to Hazarat Nizamuddin in New Delhi to attend the religious congregation– Tabligji Jamaat earlier this month and five out of seven Meghalaya citizens who were among the thousands believers who attended the Tablighi Jamaat in Delhi have been tested negative.
The Tablighi Jamaat in Shillong today informed that out of the seven persons, five are from Shillong while two are from East Jaintia Hills.
