Kokrajhar (Assam) ,Nov 30: Protesting against the social activist Prithiviraj Narayan Dev Mech’s objectionable remarks on UPPL chief Pramod Boro,the United People’s Party Liberal(UPPL) lodged an FIR with Kokrajhar police station on Monday and termed that Mech’s allegations are totally baseless.
In a press statement, UPPL secretary for media and information, Ayub Hussain Mondal said that UPPL vehemently criticized the false allegations against UPPL chief Promod Boro by Prithiviraj Narayan Dev Mech in his recent press statements on removal of 60% percent of illegal encroachers including Indian citizens under tribal belt and block.
” This is a baseless allegations to deceive the electorates. He is intensely used by certain political party for their own political benefits. Rather, he is the main Petitioner in the PlL case No. 22/2019 for removal of illegal encroachers in BTC under Tribal Belt and Block”,he said.
Prithiviraj Narayan Dev Mech has also filed the said case as the Director of North East Heritage Foundation. This person cannot be trusted , the statement said .
He was removed from the UPPL for various in disciplinary actions. He has no social value nor contributed on any issues for the general people . He is the person who wants media attention .
He has leveled various allegations against UPPL for the political benefits of certain party and there are credible reports of criminal cases against this person. He is also the accused in GR Case No 1191/2017, with Kokrajhar police station filed by a lady .
The statement added that the UPPL is with the Sixth Schedule of the Constitution which is very specific and clear that nothing shall extinguish or modify the existing rights and privileges of any citizens in respect of his land at the commencement of this act and disallow any citizens from acquiring land either by way of inheritance, allotment, settlement or by other way of transfer if such citizen is otherwise eligible for acquisition of land within BTAD.
“So, where is the question of removal of illegal encroachers or citizens as he has alleged. The UPPL is a law abiding party, it cannot go against any one or anybody. ” We are for peace and development. Our manifesto is clear that we will ensure lasting peace and our ideologies are crystal clear. We do not want any conflict with any community.
This person who is trying to deceive the common people and has filed PIL before the Hon ‘ble Gauhati High Court for removal of encroachers in belt and not Promod Boro as alleged .
We have filed a criminal case with Kokrajhar police on Monday against Prithiviraj Narayan DevMech for inciting the public which might create communal tension and baseless charges “, Mondal added.
