Guwahatii (Assam), April 1: Residents of Bilasipara in Assam, were astonished as 1-kilogram hailstones fell during heavy rains and thunderstorms on Sunday night.
The incident has left locals baffled which according to them is the first instance of such an unusual phenomenon in the state.

According to reports, Bilasipara in Dhubri district and Kokrajhar in BTR were the worst affected with continuous fall hail and precipitation.
In Falakata , hailstorm resembling rocks plummeting from the sky was for the first time seen by the villagers.
At least four persons lost their lives due to a hailstorm in Assam on Sunday .
