Kokrajhar (Assam),Feb 21: Sensation prevails along the Paneri area in Udalguri district after a promising trader was shot dead this evening.

According to sources ,unknown miscreants shot dead the trader at Bhutiasang under Paneri police station in Udalguri district.
The incident occurred at 6.30 pm near a bridge in the evening.
The deceased was identified as Khairul Islam and was trader by profession .
This the first incident of killing of a citizen in the area after signing of the BTR accord in the region.
Former ABSU president Pramod Boro,UPPL president UG Brahma have condemned the killing and demanded strict action against the culprits .
Boro urged the district administration to take stern measures to check such violent incidents in the near future .
