Guwahati(Assam), April 4 : The first case of Covid -19 in Guwahati has been confirmed .
Health minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma Tweeted on Friday night that a person from Kamrup (Metro) district has been found Coronavirus positive.
According to information available ,the patient is a resident of a luxurious multi-storeyed apartment in Zoo road area of the city and had returned from New Delhi recently.
Heath Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma Tweeted at 11.25 pm stating three more positive cases have been confirmed , one each from Kamrup (Metro) ,Kamrup and Morigaon taking the total number in Assam to 23 . Two of these three are patients who were related to Nizamuddin Marakz event .
After his return he had developed COVID-19 symptoms and tests conducted at Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) confirmed it .
With this the total number of Coronavirus positive cases reported in the state has gone up to 23 .
