Kokrajhar (Assam),Feb 19:The Bodoland Territorial Council( BTC) Excise Bill,2019 was passed today on the second day of the ongoing Bodoland Territorial Council Legislative Assembly.The highlight of the day was the absence of BTC chief Hagrama Mohilary and his deputy Kampa Borgoyary.

The second day and last session started late and lasted barely for less than an hour and only passed the Bodoland Territorial Council Excise Bill,2019.
This was last session of the present council which was formed in 2015.Ruling Bodoland People’s Front(BPF) party has been in power in the council since 2005 till date.
On Tuesday the Budget session had passed Rs.569 crores Vote on Account Budget for the council for administration for a period of three to four months .The session was chaired by Tridip Daimary,speaker of the BTC Legislative Assembly.
The Bodoland Territorial Council Excise Bill,2019 was passed during the session and was introduced by BTC executive member for Excise department,Lwmsrao Daimary.
The session also included thanksgiving by the members as today was the last session of the third BTC Legislative Assembly.
Speaker of BTC Legislative Assembly,Tridip Daimary extended his sincere thanks to all members of the house and expressed gratitude to all the members for the smooth conduct of the assembly since 2005 till the end of the session.
He recalled how the house saw constructive discussion and collective dedication from all the members of the house from beginning to the end.
BTC executive member Lwmsrao Daimary,offered thanks on behalf of the ruling BPF party .
Daimary highlighted the developmental aspects and welfare initiatives initiated by BTC administration since 2003 in the region.
BPF was in ruled BTC administration since 2005 after winning all the council elections.He added that the prime focus of the BPF was welfare initiatives for common masses.
He said that both ruling and opposition came up with constructive ideas in the house and accordingly brought an environment of the healthy integration.
Daimary said that the BTC administration has could achieve this status through the bold initiatives taken by BPF party’s leadership in the region after the creation of the BTC under sixth schedule of the constitution .
UPPL MCLA Jyotirindra Brahma,on behalf of principal Opposition party offered thanks to all the members of the BTC Legislative Assembly session.He mentioned that the five year term was over today and was ending on an emotional note .
He has expressed his resentment with the conspicuous absence of the BTC chief Hagrama Mohilary and his deputy Kampa Borgoyary in the second day too as all the members were keen to meet the chief and deputy chief on the last day,but they unfortunately remained absent .
“We had come up with united thoughts and activities in the Legislative Assembly to bring welfare and development to the masses .We have performed as a united family “,he added.
