Kokrajhar (Assam),Mar 10: The influential All Bodo Students Union(ABSU) has strongly condemned the former Lok Sabha MP Sansuma Khunggur Bwiswmuthiary for his recent remarks on the Bodoland Territorial Region(BTR) accord and expressed unhappiness over the recent convened special convention under the banner of ex-ABSU workers in Kokrajhar.
Speaking the reporters at a Press Conference held at Bodofa House here ,ABSU president Dipen Boro termed that the recently organised special convention of ex-ABSU workers and members as unnecessary and termed that the resolutions passed was not acceptable and was unnecessary after the signing of the third Bodo accord which has been accepted all segments of the society here creating a peaceful environment.
He came down heavily on Bwiswmuthiary who had organised the convention to make review of the third Bodo accord. He said that the Bodo accord was successfully after a peace dialogue involving four factions of the NDFB,ABSU leaders and members from United Bodo People’s Organisation to make way for permanent peace in the region.
He said that the students union was working for the welfare and development for all sections of the communities in order to pave way for good governance . He added that the ABSU was also one of the parties in signing of the accord and Bodoland Territorial Region has been created through the peace process within the Indian constitution.
“The BTR is an outcome of comprehensive solution to the Bodo issues as well NDFB issues as all four factions of the NDFB participated in the peace process and the third Bodo accord was signed under the bold leadership of BJP led NDA government”, Boro said.
He said that BTR accord is going to bring more development and welfare among all sections of the communities in the region.
He has said that the students union would ensure that all the clauses of of accord would be implemented in letter and spirits .
He said that the students would ensure integrity and welfare among the common masses.
Boro criticized the former MP Bwiswmuthiary for his unwanted remarks on the recently signed BTR accord, stating that Bwiswmuthiary who was a signatory of a memorandum of settlement to create Bodoland Autonomous Council(BAC) in 1993(now defunct),is surprisingly alleging that the recently signed BTR accord would do nothing for the development of the society.
He said that he has( Bwiswmuthiary) has lost his gratitude and respect by organizing such a meet of Ex ABSU members as a mark of protest to the BTR accord.
ABSU president termed that Bwiswmuthiary’s activities and comments are not acceptable to all sections of the society as they have extended their graduate towards the government for ushering in a new era in the BTR areas .
He said that Bwiswmuthiary had done nothing for the welfare and development of the common masses in Kokrajhar during his 16 – year tenure as the MP from Kokrajhar Lok Sabha constituency.
He said that ex MP Bwiswmuthiary who has done nothing for the development of the region is today reviewing the recently signed Bodo accord which has been accepted by one and all and referring to him as an ex ABSU leader and worker among the society.
