Guwahati (Assam) , June 27 : There has been an alarming spike in Covid positive cases in the capital city . Of 273 cases detected in the state on Friday 203 cases are from Guwahati city .
To check the rising community transmission of Covid -19 cases , the entire city will be put under 14 – day complete lockdown from Sunday midnight .
This is going to be the strictest lockdown in the city and almost everything will be shut during the period except medical facilities .
Assam Health Minister tweeted on Friday night , “📌Alert ~ 273 new #COVID19+ cases detected in Assam today. Guwahati city alone sees a surge of 203 cases today and time for us to follow lockdown instructions. Your cooperation is vital.↗️Total cases 6919,↗️Active cases 2660
