Guwahati(Assam), Aug 9 : A total of 1123 new Covid cases were detected in the state on Sunday taking the total number of cases in the state to 58, 837.
Among the new cases detected today , 240 were from Kamrup Metro and 121 from Jorhat .
A total of 1734 patients were also discharged from various hospitals and Covid Centres after recovery on Sunday .
5 more Covid patients also succumbed to their infections on Sunday taking the death toll to 145 . The patients have been identified as Rafiq Ali (66) & Mahendra Deka (90) of Kamrup Rural; Ramapati Devi (60) of Morigaon; Gobinda Das (32) of Tinsukia and Rijumoni Gohain (47) of Dibrugarh.
Confirming the developments , Health Minister , H B Sarma tweeted , “📌Alert ~ 1123 COVID cases detected out of 24492 tests in last 24 hrs.
