Shillong (Meghalaya), August 25: Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma today inaugurated the Youth Mela organized by the Chief Minister’s Youth Centre at All Saints’ Hall, here. Minister of Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare, Dr. Ampareen Lyngdoh, was also present on the occasion.
The Chief Minister emphasized that development cannot be measured solely by numbers or large infrastructural projects. “Development is an aspect that has to be seen from multiple fronts,” he said, highlighting the importance of connecting farmers, rural entrepreneurs, women, and youth, as well as addressing social issues like health, education, rural tourism, and agriculture.
He added that the government has entrepreneurial programs at different levels to ensure that entrepreneurship is not limited to large enterprises but also includes small and nano enterprises. The event provided a platform for young people to showcase their talents and ideas, and was attended by numerous young entrepreneurs, innovators, and students who showcased their projects and initiatives in various fields.
