Shillong (Meghalaya), Oct 28: -In a significant move, the Meghalaya government has announced a 3% increase in Dearness Allowance (DA) and Dearness Relief (DR), raising the existing rate from 43% to 46% effective July 1, 2024.
This enhancement will benefit over 90,000 Meghalaya government employees and pensioners, providing them with a much-needed financial boost to cope with the rising cost of living.
This decision reflects govts commitment to supporting its employees and pensioners and aims to improve their quality of life and mitigate the impact of inflation.
The increased DA/DR will be implemented in accordance with the Central Government’s guidelines and will be payable during the fiscal year 2024-2025.
