Shillong (Meghalaya), Dec 20 : The SSA teachers today, December 20, 2021 expressed unhappiness over the silence and adamant attitude of state government to their demand for releasing of funds amounting Rs.104 crores being the additional amount to be borne by State Government on capping norms of ‘Samagra Shiksha’ apart from 10 percent state share with regard to financial support for payment of SSA teachers salary, which is lying with the state government for the last three years.
“If the amount of Rs 104 crores is released it will be sufficient to pay the pending salaries for at least 3 months, the President of All Meghalaya SSA School Teachers Association, Rymbai,said.
In a statement made to the media , Rymbai informed that the SSA teachers have been without salary for almost five months and no immediate solution seems visible till date. He also said that everybody is aware that nobody takes up teaching profession to get rich, but teachers don’t expect to suffer in their chosen profession.
Rymbai added that there was no response either from State Government or officials of the education department till the last day of the ultimatum and forcing the state the SSA teachers to launch the non-cooperation movement against state government starting from tomorrow till the state Government clears the pending dues.
