Shillong (Meghalaya), Sep 15: In a thrilling Shillong Premier League encounter, Mawlai FC thrashed Mylliem 4-0 at the SSA Stadium, First Ground, Polo, to take the top spot in the league table. Loving Suting was the star of the show, scoring a memorable hat-trick in the 16th, 40th, and 49th minutes. Fairming Suting added to the scoring spree with a pinpoint accurate shot in the 18th minute.
The match was a one-sided affair, with Mawlai dominating the proceedings from the start. Despite Mylliem’s early chances, Mawlai’s clinical finishing proved to be the difference-maker. Loving Suting’s first attempt was blocked by Mylliem goalkeeper Rihoklang Khongjoh, but he made no mistake with his second chance, striking the ball high out of Rihok’s reach.
With this convincing win, Mawlai FC has overtaken Nangkiew Irat at the top of the table with 12 points from five rounds, while Mylliem slipped to seventh place with five points. The win showcases Mawlai’s growing strength in the league, and they will look to maintain their momentum in the upcoming matches.
