Shillong (Meghalaya), Nov 14: The Third Edition of the Shillong Literary Festival commenced today, the 14th Nov, 2023, with the inaugural ceremony graced by Paul Lyngdoh, Minister of Tourism as the Chief Guest and Dr. Mazel Ampareen Lyngdoh,Minister of Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare as the Guest of Honour.
They were accompanied by guests, Dr. Vijay Kumar D, IAS, Commissioner & Secretary, Govt. of Meghalaya, Naveen Kishore, a renowned publisher associated with Seagull Books., Ms. Janice Pariat, an accomplished award-winning author.
The Literary Festival celebrates literature, culture not only of Meghalaya but diverse cultures and traditions and provides citizens an insight into the rich art forms.
It also provides Children and Youth engagement with writers, artists, film makers and eminent personalities. The festival also has numerous bookshops.
