Shillong ( Meghalaya), Dec 20 : AITC National Spokesperson Saket Gokhlae has brought to the notice of D.C , East Khasi Hills about Minister Dasakhiatbha Lamare’s distribution of cash to the people in Nongkrem.
Addressing the question to the DC , East Khasi Hills , Gokhale wrote “distributing cash without any receipt amounts to serious violations of several laws including the Prevention of Money Laundering Act, 2002. It is the responsibility of the district administration and the police to ensure that black/unaccounted cash is not being laundered and distributed to people.”
Questioning the legitimacy of the cash distributed by cabinet minister Dasakhiatbha Lamare, the AITC National Spokesperson added, “Moreover, when a cabinet minister allegedly distributes cash to people, there are serious questions over the source of the money and the legitimacy of the cash.”
Categorizing his concerns in an array, he further presented a set of threefold demands:
An inquiry report has to be presented to the state government about the distribution of money, A certified copy of the enquiry report submitted to the Government of Meghalaya and Chief Electoral Officer, Meghalaya has to be furnished and lastly a statement has to be issued on whether the Enforcement Directorate (ED) was informed about the allegations of cash distribution and whether a copy of the final enquiry report was submitted to the ED.
