Guwahati (Assam), Sep 28 : The North Eastern Zone Cultural Centre, Dimapur organised the Painting Workshop and Renovation of Pavilions at it’s cultural centre situated in Assam popularly known as Shilpagram.
The workshop started on Sep 27 and will conclude on Oct 14 in two batches of a team of five artists from each State of the North Eastern region of India.
The first batch is being performed by the artists of Assam, Arunachal Pradesh and Meghalaya from Sep 27 to Oct 4 .
The workshop is being supervised by Vezwuso Phesao, Exhibition Officer, NEZCC, Dimapur along with his officials from Shilpagram, Guwahati.
Each team is required to create the artworks that represent the cultural heritage of their respective State.
The budding artists who are participating from Meghalaya are Ericson Majaw, Ferrando Mawrie, Shidalin Chyrmang and Fasterfield Ryntathiang.
Artists from each State is being led by it’s team leader and senior artists of the respective states. The Assam team is being led by Manoj Roy, Exhibition Officer, Cultural Affairs Department, Government of Assam, Guwahati; the Arunachal Team is being led by Punyo Chobin, Head of Department, Fine Arts, Rajiv Gandhi University, Itanagar, and the Meghalaya team is being led by Raphael Warjri, Chief Art Director, Riti Academy of Visual Arts.
