Shillong(Meghalaya), Oct 29 : The National Disaster Reduction Day was observed today at the training field of the Central Training Institute, Mawdiangdiang.

During the program, a total of 202 volunteers who have successfully completed the training program on disaster management/response under the Scheme ‘Up-scaling Aapda Mitra’ which was organized by the DDMA from the month of May to September, 2022 and who have rendered their service during disaster and distributed items related with disaster response were felicitated.
Smti I. Laloo, Deputy Commissioner & Chairperson (DDMA), East Khasi Hills District and M.K. Sangma, Jt. Director of Civil Defence, Meghalaya was present on the occasion.
