Dimapur (Nagaland), May 25 , Chief Minister, Neiphiu Rio, inaugurated the 30- bedded COVID Hospital at the Nagaland Police Referral Hospital (NPRH), Chumukedima on Tuesday.
Praying for God’s presence in the hospital so that people who come for treatment receives healing and blessings, Rio expressed satisfaction over the arrangements of the hospital which is equipped with seven ICU beds, five oxygen beds and 15 oxygen concentrators.
He also inspected the upcoming 75 bedded COVID hospital in the same complex where he expressed his satisfaction over the progress of the work.
Nagaland DGP, T. John Longkumer, informed the chief minister that work is expected to be completed within the next 20 days.
Earlier, on arrival at Dimapur airport by Chopper along with his entourage, the team was received by State Nodal officer for Dimapur district, Y. Kikheto Sema, IAS , DC and CP Dimapur.
The team visited district Hospital Dimapur and PSA Oxygen Plant and had a brief interaction with CMO and Rio was briefed that the installation in of PSA oxygen Plant has been completed and would start functioning soon.
The team than proceeded to IHM to take stock of the alternative Government Hospital with 110 beds initially, arranged by the State Government for catering to the needs of the poor and needy Covid patients free of cost.
The visiting team was briefed about setting up of the required beds in the shortest possible time by Team Dimapur.
CM Rio was impressed with the progress and re-iterated that the State Government was trying its best for providing maximum health care infrastructures in all the districts particularly Dimapur district considering the District being the gateway to Nagaland accounting for more than 60% Covid positive cases.
The team later proceeded to CISHR to see the proposed site of 176 bedded Hospital which would be equipped with all healthcare facilities.
Director CISHR, Dr. Sedevi, explained the layout of the proposed Hospital to the visiting team and informed that the setting up of the Hospital should be completed within a period of two months once the MoU has been signed and required material arrives.
The Chief Minister later thanked Team Dimapur, frontline workers, civil societies, Church organizations and all concern for joining hands in the fight against COVID-19 pandemic.
Rio was accompanied by Deputy Chief Y. Patton, ministers Pangyu Phom and Neiba Kronu, Advisors Zhaleo Rio and Mmhonlumo Kikon, DGP Nagaland, APC Nagaland, Deputy Commissioner and Commissioner of Police, Dimapur, officials from Health & Family welfare Department and host of other dignitaries.
