Shillong (Meghalaya), Feb 4: In a frenzied display of sonic brutality, death metal juggernaut Stabwound has emerged victorious at the Shillong Open Air – Wacken Metal Battle, etching their name into the annals of Indian metal history. The band’s merciless onslaught of riffs and relentless energy secured them a coveted spot at the WMB – Indian Subcontinent Finals in Bengaluru.
The competition, a crucible of sound and fury, drew 30+ bands from across the nation, each vying for the top prize. A distinguished panel of judges, comprising Nangsan Lyngsan (Godless), Abbas Razvi (Godless), and Kaushik Baruah (Speedtrip), crowned Stabwound the champion, with Annihilation X taking silver.
