Shillong ( Meghalaya), Nov 2 : Former Indian footballer Eugeneson Lyngdoh of the UDP won the Mawphlang seat by defeating his nearest rival Kennedy Khyriem of the Congress by a margin of 4, 401 votes .
Eugeneson got a total of 13,285 votes in his favour while Kennedy managed to get only 8,884 votes .
NPP candidate Lamphrang Blah was in the third position with 5,103 votes .
In Mawryngkneng , Pyniaid Syiem of the NPP defeated his nearest rival Highlander Kharmalki of the Congress by a margin of 1804 votes .
Pyniaid got a total of 14,088 votes in his favour while Highlander managed to get only 12,284 votes .
With this the ruling MDA coalition bagged all the three seats in the by polls while Congress drew a blank .
Earlier , in the day NPP candidate and former MLA Abdus Saleh of the NPP won the Rajabala seat by defeating Hashina Yasmin Mondal wife of Late MLA Dr. Azad Zaman .
Meanwhile, NPP National president and Meghalaya CM Conrad Sangma said that the people have made their choice by ensuring victory for NPP candidates Abdus Saleh in Rajabala constituency and Pyniaid Sing Syiem in Mawryngkneng constituency and termed it as victory of the people.
