Imphal(Manipur), June 16 : The State board examinations for Class X, XI and XII, 2021 have been cancelled in Manipur due to the prevailing situations induced by the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Board of Secondary Education, Manipur, which conducts the Class X exams and the Council of Higher Secondary Education, Manipur, which conducts the Class XI and XII have issued separate notifications to this effect on Wednesday.
The council’s notification mentioned that the modus operandi of the award of marks, certificates to the students shall be done with due approval of the Government.
Meanwhile, Manipur crosses the grim record of 1,000 official deaths. In the last 24 hours, the State Level Covid 19 Deaths Audit Committee has reported 10 COVID-19 deaths, taking the death toll to 1,008.
The Health Department of the state reported 751 new cases on Wednesday, taking the total number of cases to 61,848.
Imphal West and Imphal East continue to report the majority of fresh cases with 231 and 125 new cases, respectively.
With 408 persons discharged on Wednesday, the recovery rate stands at 83.69 per cent. There are 9,078 active cases in the state at present.
