Shillong (Meghalaya), Jan 17: The Ministry of Textiles, in collaboration with the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), has launched the VisioNxt project, a groundbreaking initiative aimed at empowering Indian craftsmen and designers. This project is part of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav celebrations and is designed to prepare India’s designers, craftsmen, and fashion industry for global competition.
Key Objectives and Achievements:
– Develop an indigenous trend forecasting system tailored to India’s cultural and local requirements
– Collect and analyze data on Indian dress trends, with over 70,000 primary garment images and 2,80,000 secondary images collected so far
– Prepare fashion micro trend reports and close-to-season trend reports to help craftsmen and designers adapt to market demand
– Launch India’s first bilingual fashion trend book, “Paridhi 24×25,” which has been downloaded over 2,000 times
– Train over 800 students in trend spotting and data collection systems, enhancing their skills and job prospects
