Umroi ( Meghalaya ), Nov 4 : The India-Malaysia joint Exercise HARIMAU SHAKTI (2023) culminates on Sunday ,05 Nov 2023, after fourteen days at Foreign Training Node Umroi Cantonment, here.
The exercise which commenced on Oct 23 was an intense joint training exercise with both the armies exhibiting their combat power and dominance while understanding nuances of fighting multi domain operations in sub conventional scenarios. The exercise provided opportunity to both the armed forces to train in sub conventional operations in joint environment under United Nations Charter.
The exercise was conducted in two phases, first phase of combat conditioning and tactical training and second phase was of 48 hours validation of training received by both the armies during the conduct of exercise. During the entire duration of exercise Indian Malaysian Armed forces displayed the highest standards of professional conduct, tactical acumen & military discipline.
The exercise will culminate with a grand closing ceremony wherein both the nations exchanged their cultural fervour to understand each other’s values & traditions.
A total of 120 personnel from 6 th Battalion The RAJPUT REGIMENT of Indian Army and 5 th Royal Battalion of Malaysian Army participated.
The aim of the joint exercise was to acquaint both the forces with each other’s operating procedures in the back drop of sub conventional operations under UN mandate.
The Ex HARIMAU SHAKTI-2023 will promote positive military relations between the Malaysian Army & the Indian Army. Ex HARIMAU SHAKTI is a joint exercise conducted as part of military diplomacy between Indian Army and Malaysian Army alternatively in Malaysia and India respectively. The exercise is conducted on a reciprocal basis and its first edition was conducted in the year 2019 in Malaysian.
Both the nations expressed immense satisfaction at the conclusion of the exercise, in terms of the standards achieved during the conduct of exercise. The exercise was a great milestone in establishing the traditional bond of friendship between India and Malaysian and further strengthened the pledge of both the countries towards a peaceful world.
