Shillong(Meghalaya), Jan 3 : Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong today urged the parents of teenagers in the state to closely monitor the activies of their children so that they do not not fall prey to anti-social elements.
He made the comment in wake of the IED blast in Police Bazar here on Sunday where teenagers were involved in planting the device .
Within hours of the blast on Sunday last , East Khasi Hills Police made an early breakthrough by arresting one juvenile who was a member of the banned HNLC.
The detained juvenile led the police to another crude live bomb kept at Demthring, which was defused immediately.
All the persons arrested in connection with the IED blast based on CCTV footage were teenagers .
During the search operations in the houses of the teenagers police were also successful in recovering explosive items from their possession .
Deputy CM Tynsong urged upon the parents to closely monitor the activities of their children so that they do not disrupt the peace and security of the state.
