Shillong(Meghalaya),May 20: The state on Thursday registered its highest single-day spike of 1183 new COVID-19 cases, taking the number of active cases to 6,477.
Among the new cases, 656 were detected from East Khasi Hills District only.

10 more patients undergoing treatment for Covid – 19 succumbed to their infections . While 6 were reported from East Khasi Hills , 1 each was reported West Garo Hills, South West Garo Hills, North Garo Hills and South Garo Hills .
The death toll so far has gone up to 389 .
On Thursday , 465 patients undergoing treatment were also released after complete recovery .
