Purakhasia(Meghalaya), Oct 10: Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma visited Purakhasia and surrounding areas to assess the flood damage. He held a review meeting with district and block officials, interacted with villagers, and assured them of government support.
Sangma noted extensive damage to houses, ponds, plantations, and orchards. He directed Agriculture, Horticulture, and other departments to provide assistance to affected communities.
During his visit, the Chief Minister Inspected the catchment area near the Purakhasia riverbank, toured the bridge connecting Wagigitok to Akimpara over Grim River, engaged with villagers in Aikinpara and Posenggagre, addressing concerns and assessed damage at Thallang bridge.
The Chief Minister’s visit demonstrates the government’s commitment to supporting flood-affected communities.
