Shillong (Meghalaya) , July 11 : A total of 76 new Covid positive cases were detected in the state on Saturday morning taking the total number of cases to 262 .
However , the active cases stand at 215 after 46 patients recovered fully . Two patients had died .
In response to the spike in #COVID__19 cases in the BSF camp situated at Umpling area the government has decided to do random testing in localities adjacent to the camp. Tests will be done in Umpling, Nongmensong & Mawpat.
With regards to the Greenwood incident, the chief minister , Conrad Sangma has directed the DC of EKH to take necessary action against the violators as per the relevant provisions of the IPC, Meghalaya Epidemic Diseases, #COVID__19 Regulations, 2020 & the Epidemic Diseases Act, 1897.
Confirming the new cases CM Conrad Sangma tweeted , “76 more individuals have tested positive for #COVID19 in Meghalaya.”
