Shillong (Meghalaya ) , Sept 12 : 1 more Covid death was reported here today taking the death toll to 25 .
According to official sources , a 15- year- old boy identified as Welldoneboy Marbaniang hailing from Mawpat locality succumbed to his infections on Thursday but found to be Covid positive later . The young boy was diagnosed of undifferentiated febrile illness with acute respiratory distress syndrome, septic shock and died at at the Dr H Gordon Roberts Hospital ,here on Thursday .
A total of 168 Covid cases were detected in the state on Saturday taking the total number of active cases in the state to 1,570.
Among the new cases , 124 cases were reported from East Khasi Hills district which included 45 from Armed Forces and 79 general public . West Garo Hills recorded 17 new cases and all general public . Ri – Bhoi District reported 14 new cases which included 8 from the Armed Forces and 6 general public . East Jaintia Hills reported 7 new cases ( general public), South West Khasi Hills reported 4 new cases (general public) , West Khasi Hills and East Garo Hills reported 1 case each and all were general public .
A total of 131 patients were discharged from various hospital today after total recovery .
Meghalaya CM Conrad Sangma tweeted, “131 individuals have recovered from coronavirus in the State today.
