Tura(Meghalaya), March 3 : The two-day Youth Parliament concluded in Tura, engaging students in debates and reflections on democracy. Rajya Sabha MP Dr. Wanweiroy Kharlukhi urged youth to shape Meghalaya’s future, citing examples of leaders like Late Dr. Donkupar Roy and Conrad K. Sangma who rose to prominence from humble beginnings.
Meghalaya Legislative Assembly Secretary Malthus S. Sangma emphasized the platform’s role in sharing ideas and understanding democratic functioning. Students participated in quiz and extempore speech competitions, promoting democratic values and governance participation. The event was organized by Tura Christian College and sponsored by the Meghalaya Legislative Assembly.
