Shillong (Meghalaya), Sep 7 : Meghalaya Hills Farmers’ Union today apprised the Meghalaya Governor Satya Pal Malik on the plight of the farmers in the state.
Speaking to the media after meeting the state Governor at Raj Bhavan here , the President Hill Farmers’ Union, Commander Shangpliang said he was hopeful that the Head of the state will speak with the Centre relating to MP Kisan Yojana, implementation of Market Intervention Scheme, setting up of Scientific Storage and opening of international border markets on along the Indo-Bangladesh border.
Shangpliang said these schemes and initiatives will enhance the economy of the farmers in the state.
