Imphal(Manipur), July 21 : Manipur on Wednesday reported 1,327 new cases of COVID-19 over the past 24 hours, the state’s highest one-day rise in new cases.
Deaths rose by 15 taking the fatality tally to 1,424, according to the latest data of the state Health department.
The 1,327 new cases reported today broke the largest one-day rise records of COVID-19 cases set on the previous days, showing the state’s grim situation due to the pandemic.
Now, the state’s COVID-19 infection caseload has reached 88,050 with 10,347 active cases.
The state also registered discharge of 1,032 patients during the day, which took the recovery count to 76,279. The state’s recovery rate is 86.63 per cent.
As many as 6,852 tests were conducted on Wednesday. The positivity rate of the day was 19.4 per cent.
Meanwhile, the cumulative number of COVID-19 vaccine doses administered in the state rose to 10,90,922 with 24,795 doses administered on Friday. A total of 1,25,580 individuals were fully vaccinated in the state as they got the second jab of the vaccine till Wednesday.
