Kokrajhar (Assam),June 14: The All Rabha Students Union (ARSU) has demanded a thorough CBI investigation and punishment of the involved culprits in the death of 2 minor girls found hanging on a tree recently at Abhaikuti village in Kokrajhar district.
The two minor sisters of the same family were found in mysterious condition hanging on a tree and were identified as Robita Rabha (15) and Somaina Rabha (13) on Friday last at Abhaikuti under Kokrajhar police station.
On Sunday,Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma,BTR chief executive member Pramod Boro visited at Abhaikuti and took stock of the incident. Chief Minister Sarma directed the police to conduct a strict investigation into the incident .
A 10 – members team of CID and Forensic Science Laboratory, Guwahati have started it’s investigation into the incident on Monday .
The CID team is led by SP(CID) Kankanjyoti Saikia and is assisted by deputy director of Forensic Science laboratory Partho Sarma.
The CID and Forensic teams tried assess all angles of the incident besides visiting the spot where two minor sister’s were found hanging on a tree under mysterious conditions .
The CID teams collected all information about the incident and interacted with the family members.
The CID team were hopeful that the truth would be coming out shortly after completion of the investigations.
A delegation team of All Rabha Students Union (ARSU) led by it’s assistant general secretary , Dipangkhar Rabha met the victim’s family to take stock about the incident.
Rabha also demanded a CBI investigation into the incident .
Chairperson of Assam state commission for protection of child rights, Dr Sunita Changkakoti also visited at the house and met the victim’s family. She was accompanied by chairperson of child welfare committee (CWC) Kokrajhar Malati Rani Narzary.
Dr Changkakoti took stock about the incident which had created chaos among other citizens in the region.
BTC MCLAs Hemanta Rabha and Pradip Kumar Bhutan also visited the victim’s family and met the family members.
Family members of the 2 sisters killed also demanded punishment of the involved culprits after proper investigations .
Meanwhile, number of arrested persons have gone up to seven with two more arrests made today .
SP Kokrajhar Prateek Thube told South Asia Views that thorough investigations are in progress into the Abhaikuti incident which has created shockwaves among the residents in Kokrajhar district.
He said that the investigations are going on in right direction into and more new inputs are emerging .
He also informed that the postmortem report is expected soon .
The two arrested today were identified as Nasibul Ali sk (19) and Forijul Rahman (22) of Salbari village.
