Kokrajhar (Assam) , Dec 13 : UPPL Chief Promod Boro will be the next CEM of BTC informed the state Chief minister , Sarbananda Sonowal .
He will be leading the combine of UPPL -BJP – GSP combine in the next Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC).
The verdict of the 40-member BTC poll was a hung one with BPF emerging as the single largest party with 17 seats but could reach the magic figure of 20 . The UPPL won 12 seats and the BJP 9 while the Congress and GSP got 1 seat each .
CM Sonowal formally announced the post polls alliance after a meeting the newly elected members and UPPL led by its chief Pramod Boro. GSP which got a single seat will also be part of the alliance .
This morning BPF chief Hagrama Mohilary urged the BJP to support them to form the council. and also sent Social Welfare Minister Pramila Rani Brahma representing the party to Guwahati to hold negotiations with the BJP.
However, the BJP refused to align with their ally BPF and decided to be with the UPPL.
However ,senior Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma announced that the alliance with BPF at the state level would continue .
