Kokrajhar ( Assam),July 19: Police here has intensified strict operations against the National Liberation Front of Boroland (NLFB) in Kokrajhar district even as NIA has announced cash reward of Rs. 10 lakh for any leads in nabbing NLFB leader M Batha.
Kokrajhar SP, Prateek Thube said that the police has started it’s search operation against the NLFB militants along the Indo – Bhutan border of Kokrajhar district.
He said that police and other security agencies are keeping a close watch on the NLFB militants who all have set up camps in the deep jungle of the region.
“Police personnel are braving difficult terrains, unpredictable weather and rains, and are on the move to nab the NLFB leader M Batha and his gang “, Thube said.
Meanwhile, National Investigation Agency (NIA) has declared NLFB leader M Batha as a most wanted militant and declared a reward of Rs. 10 lakh to any one giving concrete information about the whereabouts of M Batha.
It is learnt that several former members of the dissolved NDFB have reportedly joined the NLFB militant group .
Four factions of NDFB had returned to the main stream after signing BTR accord on Jan 27 ,2020 after a long lasting solution to the Bodo issues .
