Kokrajhar (Assam),May 20: In a bizzare incident in Kokrajhar town a businessman was stabbed to death with sharp weapon while another person received serious injuries when they were attacked by miscreants late last night.
Police have managed to arrest the main culprit within few hours after the incident .
The incident took place at a village here around 10.30 pm on Wednesday .
48 -year -old Shibu Prasad Brahma was immediately rushed to the MRM hospital for immediate treatment but succumbed to his injuries due to serious injuries and excessive bleeding .
His friend Ashok Boro has also been admitted to the hospital and is reported to be in a serious state. The deceased , Shibu Prasad Brahma was a noted social activist and well known in the area .
Within the few hours of the incident, police arrested the prime accused Diphu Narzary ( 19 yrs ) from Runikatha in Chirang .
Additional SP Kokrajhar,Mukut Rabha told South Asia Views that the prime accused was having some quarrel with his wife and Brahma and his friend tried to stop the quarrel but instead Diphu attacked the duo with a sharp weapon.
Meanwhile, the Kokrajhar district committee of All Bodo Students Union (ABSU) extended its condolences to the bereaved family of Sibhu Prasad Brahma .
