Kokrajhar (Assam) , Jan 6: Amit Raj Daimary, son of ex Rajya Sabha MP and BJP leader Biswajit Daimary was rescued on Wednesday at Chapaguri Bus stand in Bongaigaon district after 24-hours since he went missing from Reality Public School Kokrajhar.
Amit Raj Daimary, a 16-year-old youth, studying in class X at Reality Public School was supposed to appear for the class X final examination this year itself.
Amit went missing from the school hostel complex in the afternoon on Tuesday which created a sensation among the guardians ,parents, school authorities and police administration for almost 24 hours .
Principal of Reality Public School, Dr P K Sutradhar told South Asia Views that Amit had jumped out the school boundary wall in the afternoon after the lunch break with the help of two fellow students after they helped him to jump the boundary wall and then went missing.
The mystery of the student missing came into light in the late evening after school authorities informed to the guardians and police administration about the incident.
Police ,school authorities and guardian of Amit started their own search operation after the incident and kept a close watch across the region with police checking all link roads across the district.
Ex MP Biswajit Daimary reached his Kokrajhar residence on Tuesday midnight from Guwahati and he personally got involved in the search operation to rescue his son Amit Raj Daimary since late evening till this afternoon.
There was no trace of Amit Raj Daimary till afternoon of Wednesday and ex MP Daimary had been seen restless with the mysterious disappearance of his son .
Daimary personally rushed the Kokrajhar railway station in the night and early morning today to check all the CCTV footages in the railway station, but couldn’t get any clue till this afternoon .
In a strategically conduced operation by police administration, Amit Raj Daimary, was finally rescued from Chapaguri Bus stand in Bongaigaon this afternoon .
Additional DGP of Assam(law and order) GP Singh rushed to Kokrajhar this morning and personally supervised the search operation to rescue missing Amit .
Singh along with BTAD(IGP) Anurag Agarwal and Kokrajhar SP Rakesh Roshan rushed to Chapaguri on getting clues about he being there and later handed him over to his family members at Biswajit Daimary’s Sudempuri residence.
” Amit Raj Daimary was rescued safely today afternoon at Chapaguri Bus stand and police handed him over to his parents. Amit was in sound health and mind “,said ADGP Singh.
Amit Raj Daimary spent whole night on the roadside at Chapaguri in Bongaigaon district in midst of heavy cold wave of the ongoing winter season.
Ex MP Daimary after return of his son, extended his thanks and gratitude to all the media persons, police administration and school authorities for extensive cooperation since Tuesday in rescuing Amit Raj Daimary .
Daimary has also extended his sincere gratitude to the BTC CEM Pramod Boro for his personal initiative in the search operation of Amit.
“My family is very happy after rescue of Amit within 24 hours and we are very much thankful to the almighty God for his safe return “, Daimary added.
