Guwahati(Assam), April 01 : NRL today handed over Tractors of 50 HP capacity under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) scheme to two groups involved in agricultural activities; namely Assam Nabanirman Jutia Krishi Samabai Samittee, Chamupara, Darrang and Indigenous Agricultural Farmers Producer Company Limited, Dispur Guwahati.
In a handing over ceremony held at Corporate Office here today, MD NRL , S K Barua ceremonially handed over the keys of the Tractors to Anup Chetia representing the beneficiary organizations in presence of SCGM NRL, Nikunja Borthakur, CGM Project (Pipeline) – NRL Manoj Pegu, Company Secretary – NRL H K. Sarmah, DGM Corporate Communication NRL – Ms. Madhuchanda Adhikari, SM (CSR) NRL – Biswamohan Burhagohain and other senior officials of the Company.
Speaking on the occasion, MD NRL SK Barua mentioned that NRL has always supported the people of Assam through its CSR activities and agri – allied activities is an important focus area in its purview. He hoped that the beneficiary organizations would be able to utilize the tractors to increase their yield and had words of praise for them for their sincere endeavors in taking up agricultural activities as a source of livelihood.
Anup Chetia thanked NRL for its noble gesture and mentioned that the youth of Assam should focus on agriculture sector for sustainable development of Assam.
The ceremony was also attended by G. Kumar Dev Goswami, Lila Kanta Sarma, Ripunjit Dutta, Smt. Monika Borgohain Baruah and other representatives of both the organizations.
