Kokrajhar (Assam),Mar 14: President of United People’s Party Liberal(UPPL) and former ABSU president Pramod Boro has appealed to the leaders of ULFA-I and KLO to come to the mainstream and be part of the peace process healthy integration in the state.
Boro while addressing an election rally in Kokrajhar on Saturday said that the present day is regarded as the day of building peace and integrity amongst all sections of the people in the state.
He added that there is no militant outfits in BTR region now as all four factions of the NDFB have come to the mainstream and signed a peace accord as a result of which the Bodoland Territorial Region was created on Jan 27 last after signing of the tripartite peace accord.
He appealed to the armed groups to come to the mainstream and solve the issues and demands through peaceful initiatives.
He urged both government and militants to come forward to solve the vexed issues in the state through dialogue .
The election campaigning is gaining momentum with various parties and organisations including BPF,UPPL organizing election meetings and rallies at various constituencies across the BTC region for the upcoming BTC council elections slated to be held on April 4 next.
In Kokrajhar, both UPPL and BPF have carried out election rallies at various places in support of their respective candidates at different constituencies.
UPPL president Pramod Boro addressed the election rallies on Saturday at Saralpara,Ultapani,Bishmuri,Banglabari and Titaguri in Kokrajhar district in support of their respective candidates in Debargaon and Banargaon constituencies.
Boro alleged that BPF ruled BTAD administration was involved in huge sacle corruption and anomalies in their pat 17 years of rule in the administration.He claimed that this time around the general masses in the region are coming out to support UPPL and council formation would be formed by the UPPL .He also appealed to all sections of the communities to vote in favour of UPPL candidates during the council elections.
“Peoples from BTR want’ parivartan’ that is why this UPPL is sure to win majority of the seats in the council elections”,said UPPL president Boro.
Boro while campaigning at an election programme today here said that his party will declare the candidate’s list for all 40 seats in Kokrajhar on Sunday.He said that UPPL was fully prepared to contest the council elections and was confident of winning with handsome margins .
He added that BTR accord will bring more development and welfare amongst the society.
He also welcomed the strong wave of ‘parivartan’ amongst all sections of the communities ahead of the council elections and hoped that this wave would help the UPPL to win the council elections.
He has claimed that if UPPL is voted to power,the next council would be for the common masses development and welfare for the common masses.
” You will see no ‘dadagiri’ of chief, deputy chief,executive and members in the new council in coming days and the council’s would be for the people or ‘ Raijor Sarkar’, said Pramod Boro.
Boro said that the next council in BTR will be a role model area across the state and the country as a whole.
