Guwahati (Assam), July 31 : A total of 1862 new Covid cases were detected in the state in the past 24 hours out of which 281 were from Kamrup , Metro, 202 from Kamrup Rural , 140 from Cachar , 129 from Sonitpur , 117 from Dibrugarh , 117 from Nagaon and 105 from Jorhat . The figures were derived after a total of 38324 tests were conducted across the state .
A total of 1277 patients were discharged from various hospitals after recovery .
4 more seriously ill Covid patients died today taking the death toll in the state to 98. According to official sources , the 4 patients who succumbed to their infections are 68 -year old Manik Saha from Hojai , 30 -year old Mintu Banik from Kamrup Metro , 68 -year old Gopal Das from Jorhat and 59 -year old Bijay Sarkar from Dibrugarh .
