Guwahati (Assam), Aug 4 : There has been an alarming rise of Covid cases in Assam with 2886 new cases detected and 6 more deaths reported in the state in the past 24 hours .
Among the new cases , 550 cases have been reported from Kamrup Metro , 294 from Kamrup Rural , 213 from Nagaon and 201 from Dibrugarh .
On Tuesday , 6 more Covid patients succumbed to their infections .
They have identified as Sradhona Sarkar (72) of Jorhat; Pranab Saikia (43) & Late Aarati Limbu (60) of Tinsukia; Manik Sarkar (48) & Bhaban Likson (48) of Dibrugarh and Sajal Acharjee (63) of Sonitpur.
Health Minister , Himanta Biswa Sarma tweeted , “📌Alert ~ 2886 COVID cases detected out of 5⃣9⃣0⃣6⃣4⃣ tests in last 24 hrs~ maximum in a day so far.
Positivity Rate- 4.86%
Kamrup (M)- 550, Kamrup (R)- 294, Nagaon- 213, D’garh- 201.”
