5 more Covid deaths take death toll to 889 in Assam

Guwahati(Assam), Oct 21 : Five more Covid deaths were reported from various hospitals in the state today taking the total number of deaths so far in the state to 889 .

The deceased patients have been identified as Bibhuti Choudhary (78) of Kamrup Metro; Ms.Anjali Das (57) of Kamrup Metro; Surendra Nath Bora (78) of Nagaon; Lakhi Saikia (68) of Golaghat and Dharmeshwar Baruah (67) of Majuli.

Meanwhile , 701 new cases were detected out of 42452 tests conducted, with a positivity rate of 1.65% . Out of the new cases Kamrup Metro reported 147 new cases .

A total of 1664 patients were discharged today after recovery .
