Guwahati (Assam), Aug 6 : A total of 2372 fresh Covid cases were detected in the state on Thursday taking the total number of cases in the state to 52,817.
Among the new cases , 470 were reported from Kamrup Metro, 197 from Nagaon , 163 from Cachar , 128 from Dibrugarh , 122 from Tinsukia and 104 from Jorhat .
5 more Covid patients succumbed to their infections today and they have been identified as Asab Uddin (50) & Sentulal Saha (70) of Karimganj, Manuranjan Paul (63) of Dibrugarh, Ram Surat Gowala (77) of Tinsukia and Dhiren Kalita (55) of Kamrup Metro.
A total of 1332 patients were discharged from various hospitals and Covid Care Centres across the state today.
Confirming the days developments , health minister , Himanta Biswa Sarma tweeted , “📌Alert ~ 2372 COVID cases detected out of 55671 tests in last 24 hrs.
