Shillong (Meghalaya), Oct 16 : Two more Covid patients succumbed to their infections today in East Khasi Hills district of the state taking the death toll due to Covid -19 in the state to 75 .
Meanwhile , 139 new cases were detected in the state today .
Among the new cases 71 cases have been reported from East Khasi Hills, 21 from Ri Bhoi , 12 each from West Garo Hills and West Khasi Hills , 7 each from from East Garo Hills and East Jaintia Hills, 6 from West Jaintia Hills , 2 from South Garo Hills and 1 from North Garo Hills .

A total of 90 patients were declared recovered today .
The state tally now stands at 8,303 .However , the active cases stand at 2,492 after a total of 5,736 patients recovered so far .
