Shillong (Meghalaya ), Aug 30 : In a vibrant display of creativity and activism, over 500 young people from Meghalaya and the Northeast converged on the State Central Library here today . The occasion was a unique event that merged pop culture with public health awareness, titled “Youth Uncut: Real Talk on HIV” and “Multiverse Saga 2025 – Cosplay with a Cause.”
The event featured a candid discussion between young people and policymakers on HIV/AIDS awareness, led by Meghalaya’s Health Minister, Dr. M. Ampareen Lyngdoh.
With cosplay as the medium, the youth expressed themselves boldly while tackling tough issues like HIV stigma, mental health, and substance abuse. The winners of the cosplay competition will now represent India in Japan, taking their message of awareness and acceptance to a global stage.
