Shillong ( Meghalaya), Aug 1 : The Anti -Narcotic Task Force ( ANTF) East Khasi Hills intercepted one Eco Sport ML05 U 1782 at Jingkieng Demthring here at about 6.15 pm on Sunday and recovered 40 soap cases weighing 559 gms of Heroin from the vehicle driven by Shaniah Kharmawphlang .
According to a Police press statement ,his accomplice one Daniel Nongrum of Nongrah Nongpdeng was immediately arrested and his Pulsar bike ML05S9546 .
On further interrogation, the supplier was ascertained as one Smti Esther Ramhmangaih who was arrested from her house at Madanriting Thembasuk Block F with Rs 4,42,00/- cash.
From her premises, two couriers , Robinson Hmar a of Bawngkawn Aizawl and Letminlen Doungel of Tuibong, Churachandpur Manipur were arrested and one Mahendra Bolero AS03 M 9080 and one Suzuki Burgman scooty ML05W 9432 were seized while cash Rs 2,19,510/- was recovered inside the Bolero.
A total of 6 mobile phones have also been seized from the 5 persons arrested. A case under the NDPS Act has been registered at Rynjah Police Station for further investigation.
