Shillong(Meghalaya), Aug 22 : A total of 93 new Covid cases were detected in the state on Saturday taking the total number of active cases in the state to 1,035.
Among the new cases , East Khasi Hills reported 66 cases which includes 45 from general public , 21 from the armed forces .
West Garo Hills reported 9 new cases , West Khasi Hills 10, Ri -Bhoi 2, North Garo Hills 2 and East Jaintia Hills 4 .
A total of 20 patients were dischaged today from various hospitals after recovery .

1 more Covid patient succumbed to his infections today raising the death toll to 7 .
Meanwhile , the surgery department of NEIGRIHMS will remain closed until further notice after a patient who was supposed to go for breast tumor surgery tested positive .
